Freshpet Frozen Treats

I’m constantly asked about treats. Honestly you really can use even a piece of their dog food kibble. However, people love treats so I am adding the picture of the bag I get in the pet aisle at my local grocery store. They usually have a refrigerator with this in that same aisle. I then take it home and put it in a bunch of sandwich baggies. I then freeze those and take them out when I plan to train. This ABSOLUTELY should not be substituted for their food. ProPlan is their meal; this is a treat. I would not use these for every day simple things like getting in the crate etc.  These are high reward because it smells almost good enough for humans to eat.  This is what I use when I’m going to work for a few minutes on commands like sit, stay, down, come etc. My dogs get their NuVet vitamins as their bedtime treat (they do really love them) I quickly eliminate treats for going potty and getting in the crate. Once they have the concept I don’t give the treats for expected behavior. For those scenarios I use any basic biscuit. It doesn’t really matter as long as it does not make up a significant part of their diet. A small tip always wait until the dog is hungry to do training sessions and keep them short and fun.
